Vacations and Kidnappings

You know who needs a vacation? No, not me (although I would love to extend the one I am on until tomorrow). My sister-in-law, Melinda, desperately needs a vacation. Thank goodness she will be getting one. Here are the reasons why this super-mom deserves a vacation:

1) Just Because
2) She has six kids and has her own appraisal business
3) Two of the children are under 2 years old
4) Two of the kids are over 14 years old
5) She has just lived through the youngest, TJ (who is going on 7 months), having pneumonia AND he dislocated his elbow yesterday!

Good lord, if she doesn't deserve a vacation, then I don't know who does! Melinda, I know you read my blog from time to time and I am here to tell you this: I hope I can handle half of what you do everyday when I have kids! Hooray for you! You rock my socks and I was sooooo excited to hear that you're taking a vacation soon. I was also thrilled to hear that my brother brought you flowers last week! Well done, Tripper!

In other news, a plot to kidnap me in the future has come to my attention. I knew something was up when I got e-mails from two of my best friends (who are both in my wedding) asking for the e-mail addresses of the other bridesmaids and a couple of friends down here. Interesting. I gathered that they were plotting an outing or something. Today I got an e-mail from Gina, Matron of Honor/Wedding Question Answerer Expert, formally requesting Friday, October 27 (the day before the wedding) for a kidnapping of yours truly. Not for the whole day, of course, but kidnapped I will be. Hopefully she will hire only the most gentle mercenaries for this vicious plot. With any luck the kidnapping will include some stale bread and water. Brides to be can get hungry. :) So the plotting begins and I am fairly certain the following ladies are involved:
Gina, Sara, Clare, Kim, Karen, and Dana. All very much the evil genius crew. I really have no clue as to what the plot entails, but I am sure it will be a blast and I can't wait.

Thursday I go back to school (sigh). I'm not ready, but I have felt that way a lot this year; even on the little breaks I don't feel ready to come back. I've gotten a lot of wedding stuff done: bought the dress, won a free make up consultation, booked an officiant who is FREE (and he is just a cool guy), found a better deal on tuxedos for the guys, did my taxes and have money to put a deposit on a photographer. We also went to the circus over the weekend, hosted a gathering in the apartment, and went to a Super Bowl party. I wish I had the rest of the week to just wind down and read, but tomorrow and Wednesday are work days. Here's to hoping that the Hell Child is not so hellish and the next nine weeks go fast!
